Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5, 1956 in Woodland Hills, California, the only child of Richard and Irene McCormick. The mother was also a homemaker. She has three older brothers: Michael, Dennis and Kevin. McCormick is always a lover of performing, dancing and putting on puppet shows. The story of her fairytale started when she was just six years old and won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest. After that, she got a phone call from Pat Domigan, a talent agent at the Jack Wormser Agency. He was interested in her desire to join the business of show production. McCormick was hired for her first role of note in 1964. McCormick appeared in a Mattel commercial that starred her doll Baby Pattaburp. Her next job of note was to appear in a TV commercial for "Chatty" the doll. The play Wind It And It breaks, which took place at La Jolla Playhouse and was subsequently followed. McCormick auditioned for a role in the show 'The Brady Bunch.' She was selected from over 1,200 other children to portray the older of the twins on the TV program The Brady Bunch. Florence Henderson starred as the newlyweds, and Robert Reed, the blended family. The show lasted five years. McCormick admitted in her book, published in 2008 and titled"Here's My Story": The Journey of Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice in 2008, the fact that Barry Williams was her screen brother. He was 19 years old. She was just 16. "It was predicted to occur," said the woman, "but it never happened at the right time to us."
